Love the photos..x... thank you once again for all your help.
I wouldn`t know her surname if I heard it...I don`t know if it was a Mc or Mac.... Peggy moved to London seems to still be married to Cox in 1945....worked in a co-op then in a newspaper company .....lived in Kent for many years. Until retiring to Scotland. Married to Frederick for 44 years until his death, married name Lansley. Both only children.....no family.

Ah, now we're getting somewhere with the extra bits of information. This looks like her marriage in England (  From Freebmd)

Marriages Mar 1961

COX    Margaret
LANSLEY   Frederick L
Westminster    5c   800

If you send for her marriage certificate from the GRO, that should give you her birth name.

Right now you've given us some actual facts it makes it easier.

She married Frederick L. Lansley Mar.1961 Westerminster - he died in 2005 Inverness aged 82 and Margaret Lansley died in Inverness 2013, her mothers maiden name shown as Mullark.

Your can purchase her death certificate from Scotlands People and that should tell you the names of both her parents.

Yes, that is probably more use than getting the marriage certificate.

Margaret Lansley died in Inverness 2013, her mothers maiden name shown as Mullark.

One to consider?
Birth: Margaret Mullark registered Oct./Dec.1925 Roscommon district
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F19V-V3Y

Searching 1911 Irish census for Mullark as surname and Roscommon as county brings up a few possible families- LINK

Not as many in 1901 (surname spelt Mulark) but there is a Catherine- LINK

Scottish death certs include the full names of the deceased parent(s) if known to the informant.

From what has been mentioned, the fact that her mother's maiden name is included on the index on SP, is promising. Quite often if the info is known, the mothers of illegitimate children will also be shown with their married name from a subsequent marriage.

Also, the full name of her husband (Cox) may well be included on the death registration. This is also standard if the details are known.

All helps with tracing back.

Margaret has 4 surnames included on her death entry:

Her own Mullark, married surnames Cox and Lansley and her mother's maiden name of Mullark.

Monica

ADDED: Guessing there might be variants to her surname in the earlier Irish records possibly, such as Mullark(e)y. Mullark itself is not that common is it. Margaret consistent with its spelling though.

Wonder if she was sent to St. Monica's Industrial School in Roscommon or someplace further away? Thought it more likely grandmother wouldn't have travelled too far with her-
