Help with handwriting please

I'm hoping someone can put me right, as it looks to me like the writing above Charlotte Haslett's age of 13 says 'divorced' ???

‘Twins’ ?

She and Avis are twins so perhaps just clarifying it.

It says ‘twins’.
Both registered in the same quarter of 1838 in Petworth

You beat me to it Haywood...Yes twins..I was about to say the same...I wonder if it refers to Avis as she was at home and Charlotte was a Scholar?

Yes, perhaps. I thought the same as you Carol. Maybe the enumerator was establishing that they were twins even though home/school.
