Those records you are looking at on F M P come from familysearch (IGI), they also show on Ancestry from the same source   ;)

I'd still like to know which of the two is correct. But that probably means looking at the originals. It's also possible the the originals and BTs are different (they often are different, alas)

I can't see them anywhere else online, apart from familysearch.    Have you looked for baptisms in the parish following the marriage in case that gives a clue.

I have. It suggests John is the more likely candidate but I'd like to be sure:

1748 Feb 2                       Thomas Bolding & Sarah Court
1748 Feb 2                         John Bolding & Sarah Court
1755 Aug 11   bur        (from Cant)   a child Thomas  Bolden
1759 21 Mar bur from Holy X, Westgate a child Peter s of John & Sara Bolden
1768 Jun 9                                buried Sarah Bolden
Boulding Boulden Bollyng (all - mostly Kent)
Finch (Kent - Henry & Elizabeth (Fossett)  Finch m1687  London)

There is a transcription of "The chrystenynges, weddinges and burynges in the parish of Harballdowne from 1557 to 1800" by Joseph Meadows Cowper, FSA and published 1907 on Family Search.

The entry for 2 February 1748 is Thomas Bolding and Sarah Court  (page 66)

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
