Pengam Garden Village
« on: Sunday 11 March 18 17:49 GMT (UK) »
A posting named Wedding Group Powell on the photo restoration board has brought up more questions including a Powell family who lived at Pengam Garden Village now known as Cefn Fforest Estate in 1917.
Does anyone have any information or photos of Pengam Garden Village and have the name of any of the roads/streets that were part of the Garden Village.

Perhaps this post should be on the Glamorgan Board? Not sure in 1917 if Pengam Garden Village was in Monmouthshire or Glamorganshire.

You could try contacting the library to see if the was a street plan of village, they may hold electrol rolls or point you in the direction of info.

Definitely Monmouthshire board.  Are there any particular streets of interest.  You can go to google maps by entering:  NP12 3JZ  this centres on the school for 600 pupils mentioned on the information of the village.  Not much has changed with regard to layout of the streets since the village was built, although extra building has developed around the village.

The main street through the centre of the village is Bedwellty Road, the outermost road to the east is Pencoed Avenue (born there) and on the side of the village Greenwood Road is furthest out.
