Sarah Hill
« on: Monday 12 March 18 04:31 GMT (UK) »
Folks,
From Yaxley PR's.
Jun 7 1852 BROUGHTON John, ofa, bac, labourer, otp, s of Richard, labourer
HILL Sarah, ofa, spin, --------, otp, d of George, labourer
Wit: Jonathan BLACKMAN (X), John GRIFFIN
Sarah 1861 census pob Castor
Sarah 1871 census pob Easton
Sarah 1881/91 census pob Stamford,Northamptonshire
Sarah Ann 1901 census pob Easton
Have now found the burial of John in 1900 in Yaxley, and the adjoining plot is Sarah Ann Broughton died 1902,though age is out by two years.
My feeling is that Sarah Hill died, but when?,John re-marries Sarah Ann though i can find no marriage records for this.
Would either death or marriage have been mentioned in local papers?
Any thoughts?

I'm not quite sure why you think that John remarries.

1902 - Sarah Ann is 77
1901 - Sarah Ann is 76
1891 - Sarah is 66
1881 - Sarah is 54
1871 - Sarah is 45
1861 - Sarah is 34

Fairly consistent  :)

You have convinced me that i had the information all along though Ann being added in later years threw me.It would be helpful if her baptism was available online.
Thanks for your insight.

Bearing in mind she gives place of birth as 'Stamford' on 2 census, plus father is George, could this be her baptism:

Sarah Ann Hill, bp.30/4/1826 Stamford, Lincs., dau. of George and Ann.
