Coupe to Ireland
« on: Monday 12 March 18 10:24 GMT (UK) »
Good Morning,
I am researching the Coupe family:

George Coupe 1807 married Alice Howarth 1832 in St Nicholas Church Liverpool.

The first child was born and baptized 1835 Bootle Lancashire, the next 7 children were all born Ireland.

George by trade was a joiner

Why would they go over to Ireland ?? Don't know what part of Ireland they settled in but by 1849 they were back in St,Helens Lancashire where the last child was born.

I have all the Census info once the family return to St,Helens but struggling to find any records of them in Ireland which I know might be looking for a needle in haystack.

Any help appreciated thanks Margie

What was George's occupation (before and after they were in Dublin)?

Sorry missed bit in original post saying he was a joiner
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello,

Have you followed the family through censuses to see if they give a more precise place?
I see there is a published tree for Elizabeth and here she is in 1911 indexes
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWT1-QJJ

In that census she gives Galway as her place of birth.

Heywood
