Rees Trevett
« on: Monday 12 March 18 12:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Rees was born in 1855 as Rees Triver. Other surnames have been Trivitt and Trevett. He married Elizabeth Rouse in 1880 and had at least 3 children with her. By 1891 Elizabeth is by herself and one child (2 have died) No UK records show anything further re Rees. I do believe he turned up in the USA IN Pennsylvania on the 1900 census with a wife Margaret and 5 children. His christian name on this census is Reece. Can anyone please see if they can find a marriage in the usa to Margaret, and births of any of the children. His death would be good also.

Thanks

John

Are you sure this is the same person? On the 1900/1910 census his date of immigration is listed as 1875/1869. His obit mentions a brother John also living in Nanticoke, Luzerne, Pennsylvania

You may be right RJ137, I have a copy of a death cert for an Annie Edwards dated 18.5.1944 who's father is recorded as one Rees Trevett born Wales, this is what led me to the 1900 census. What is also a very close match is age in 1900=1856 and death in 1916 aged 62=1854.

Here's something else I don't understand? Reese, his wife Margarett & 5 children are all listed on the 1900 census and living on Noble Street. All records indicate Margaret died 30 Aug. 1899!!
