There was no Obituary in the press. I did not find any article in the local press. The then broadsheet Western Mail which in those days was a paper of substance and not the cheap tabloid it is today,
only had a classified add regarding that the funeral was to be a private one.
And here's the thing......It used her surname by her first marriage !...MORGAN  and not Robb and not Phelps her maiden name.
Her GRO Deaths says Robb.

It sounds as though the obit was put in by her Morgan family.  If she split up from George after a very short time I suppose that was not surprising

It does . I suppose by her two children Molly and Peter. I wonder how I can best see if there was an obituary for George  ?

I can't see an obit online.  If he was not a long time resident in Liverpool there is a good chance there was not one there

I sent an enquiry  to Wirral Archives late last night. I asked if there was an announcement in the Hoylake and West Kirby newspaper  for Feb /Mar 1951.

They just acknowledged and said a reply in 15 working days.....that's three weeks

If they are not charging for doing the look up then I suppose 3 weeks is not that bad.  It could be with you before that.

I can't complain. But I will say that services are getting less and less and now it's volunteers not paid librarians and professionals at archives these days.
