Helene Engla Theckla Theela Skarin Skarine 1864 Sweden
« on: Monday 12 March 18 18:53 GMT (UK) »
I have a direct line to my Great Grandmother - Helena Skarine (b1864 Cork, Ireland), her mother is recorded as Theela or Theckla Skarine and her sister is Engla, who seems to have lived with her sister in Dublin. Any leads as to their Swedish connections would be greatly appreciated.
I have attached records to Google Skarin family web page - without success.
Thank you.
L.

Hello again  :D

Are you sure Helena's mother is Theckla and not Susan?

Bless D. This is my other main sticking point - Theela is actually her listed name, Theckla was daughter - my mistake. She appears on Marraige Cert (will have to check again...) I have just found a note to say Helena was raised in Limerick - I think that adds a father from previous searches..
L.

OK, checking back and now I think that Theela may be a sister and that indeed Susan is mother given dates...

So far, everything points to Helena and sister Engla born before the start of civil registration (probably early 1860s) which is unfortunate but the birth of son Nicholas in 1869 (mother Halliman) and Helena's church marriage record (mother Halloran) don't give any indication of Swedish connection.
