Huddersfield burials - Lucy and Wilfred Travis
« on: Tuesday 13 March 18 16:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to find the burial site, date, etc. for a married couple, Lucy and Wilfred Travis. Lucy died in Q1 1971, while Wilfred died July 19, 1989. They were living in Marsh at the time so I'm guessing they would have been buried in Edgerton cemetery?

Thanks in advance for any help.

As it is fairly recent, I'd be inclined to contact Edgerton.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

They were more likely cremated I should think.

You could contact Kirklees Bereavement Services, they are very helpful.  Since you have Wilfred's date of death it should be an easy look-up for them.

bereavement.services@kirklees.gov.uk

or the Crematorium  - crematorium.services@kirklees.gov.uk

Hi

You have the of Wilfred's death contact the Huddersfield local history library and ask them to look in the obits in the Huddersfield Examiner that might give you burial details.
I would say it was a cremation but the early registers were destroyed in explosion in early 1980's so Lucy's would not be there so papers is he best way to go.
