Searching for records for Michael O'Rourke & Bridget Rodgers.
We are from Huron County, Ontario, Canada
Apparently Michael, Bridget and (at least) three sons arrived in Canada around 1848.
One source indicates they came from Galway (a son's obituary) and another says they came from Rosecommon (a son's registration of death). We are using the obituary as our primary source because so far it has been a very detailed and accurate document.
Michael & Bridget had the following children:
Thomas (b. 1831) settled in Huron County, Ontario Canada
Michael (b. 1836?) married & had 4 children in Canada and moved to Franklin & Watertown Minnesota
William (b. 1838?) settled in Huron County but had some children follow their uncle to Minnesota.
We have one potential baptismal certificate for oldest son Thomas O'Rourke in Portumna...but there is no real way of knowing if it is actually for our Thomas.
Any leads we can find would be much appreciated. We will be in Ireland in August and can follow up on thing properly while there.
