Where did the information that they had 8 children come from, and that the 2 sisters were the youngest?

Could you also confirm who/if Kate and Mary married, and when and where they died?

Catherine McKinnon married a Patrick Costello 1881 Ohio US  died 1905 Ohio

Mary Ellen McKinnon married a Henry Welch also 1881 Ohio US died 1929 Ohio death record gives the parents as John McKinnon Jane McKay gives a birth date of 26 October 1854


Newspaper Article attached to family tree states Mary Ellen Welch was born in Ballycastle and was the last of 8 children of Mr Mrs McKinnon

Yes.  Katherine McKinnon married Patrick Costello on 11/22/1881 in Columbians County, Ohio. Birth Feb1853.  Death. 2/20/1905 in Columbianas County Ohio.

Mary Ellen McKinnon Welch married Henry Welch on 5/31/1881 in Columbiana County, Ohio.  Birth 10/26/1854.    Death 12/31/1929

A local historical society told me that Mary McKinnon was the last of 8 children born to John McKinnon and Jane Mckay
