Annie Moore (1852-1942)
« on: Wednesday 14 March 18 20:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Just wondered if anyone can help re. my great-great grandmother, Annie Moore/Sherring. She was born 18 Jun 1852 in Malahide, Dublin and died 19 Jul 1942 in Sale, Cheshire after marrying Edward Sherring 10 Oct 1881 at Sacred Heart, West Derby, Liverpool, Lancashire. Witnessed by Julia Moore, possibly relative.

All we know is that her father, Patrick Moore was listed as a Land Steward on the marriage certificate and he was already dead at the time of marriage. So, dying pre-1881.

She is not on the English census of 1881, which was conducted on the night of the 3 Apr 1881, so assuming she arrived between April and October. There are, however, some similar-named Moores in Lancashire at the time.

In total Edward & Annie had 8 children- Edward Moore 1882-1970, Ernest 1883-1950, Joseph William 1885-1965, John 1887-1964 (my great-grandfather), Frederick 1889-1958 (committed suicied by jumping into Manchester Canal), Ada 1890-1892, Ellen/Nellie 1891-1956 and Amy 1893-1969. They were born in Everton and Beswick.

If anyone can help with any information it would be most helpful and appreciated.

Regards,
Chris

Thanks, think have looked at this before. As you say, too late. Maybe I’ll find a sibling.
