I copied it, reversed it and tried a Google search using it. Wonderful Google came back with "A flight of birds" even though I named the photo “Shorthand” So much for their algorithms  ::) ::) ::)

I sent the Original Poster a PM asking if they had seen all the replies and asking for any clues . I've had a reply saying "Unfortunately I have no further information. The item was found in a book."
Thought I'd pass this on.

*Insert cross face here*  Thanks Heather for saving us all further hours of work.  Does the OP realise how long it has taken us conjecturing over this when we could have been doing valid research?  Feeling cross, and grateful to Heather for the heads up.

That probably explains why the OP hasn't come back to her query, unless she meant she found it in an old family book.

That's a thought Lizzie. Hadn't thought of that.   I'd assumed the OP meant it was just a slip of paper tucked into a book - though in that case it might have been useful to know whether it was a recipe book, fiction, non-fiction, Bible or whatever!

Doubt this piece of shorthand will ever be transcribed.

I've found recipes tucked into recipe books that I've written myself in shorthand - and now I can't read them ::)

I am SPOOKED

I am getting emails offering me Pitmans Shorthand courses...

Now I know if I go on Ebay or other sites, they then flash up on here or Facebook.

So I do know that all we do on internet is 'dogged' or followed.

But I didnt realise they bothered to read my posts on here... for g.... sake.

Yes  I guess if I put into Google Xin and shorthand  it will take me to this post.. I am used to that now..

But to start getting Emails regarding posts.. is scary...

Ohhhh -  paranoia   .. . is setting in..
I just went back to my 'inbox' and the Pitmans email had gone..

So I checked and realised it was an advert.. whew.. not an email..

However it just shows there are key loggers etc and maybe 'aliens' sitting behind the screen..

oh dear, its way past my sleep time..
