Hi minniehaha,
This page of ryerson gives ideas for locating a notice http://ryersonindex.org/lookup.htm
At the bottom of the page under heading The Last Resort you can request a lookup from the Ryerson volunteers.
It may also be worth contacting the Bathurst Library https://www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/community/library.html
or the Bathurst Family history Group

Thank you Ros & Sue,

The 2008 death details of Victor George Hall do certainly indicate that this is not the right man.

Your help is much appreciated.  :)

I am new to research in Australia so still finding my way........

minniehaha, does the friend you are helping have  any idea of Victor's occupation prior to his enlistments?
The electoral rolls show occupation in Australia and it is possible he returned to a prior occupation in later life in Australia.

Is it known what father Edwin did for a living?

Hello Sue,

I can answer one question. Edwin Packington Hall, father of Victor, was in 1925, a herbalist and a year later, a herbal & homeopathic practitioner. He died in New Zealand in 1947.

I will ask my friend tomorrow if she has any information about Victor but I have a feeling that she knows very little about the family.

Thank you for your interest....
