Ancestry : Home person details
« on: Thursday 15 March 18 09:36 GMT (UK) »
Morning peeps

When I created a tree for a friend, I mistakenly ticked the box that said I was the Home Person (although I used her name and details etc), which of course, I'm not, because I don't actually feature anywhere on the tree.

I've looked at Ancestry help and it shows how to change the Home Person to someone else in the Tree, but I'm not clear whether, by doing that, it will automatically cease to regard me as the Home Person.  Does anyone know, please?

I hope that makes some sort of sense.

Perhaps I should just try changing the Home Person to someone else, and then see if it stops thinking that I am one-and-the-same?

Any ideas anyone, please?
Thanks
STG

Change the Home Person to your friend.

I have a number of trees on Ancestry (about 12!) and I am only the Home Person on 2 of them ;D

Change the Home Person to your friend.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post.   :-[

The Home Person is my friend - let's call her Edna - but because I mistakenly ticked the "this is me" box when I created the Tree, the system thinks I am Edna.

And, why is that a problem?
You still sign in as yourself ;D

The Home Person has to be a person on the tree.

Cracked it!  ;D

Went to Tree Settings and r/h side of the screen shows:

Your Home Person in this tree
Edna
change / set to none

and

Who You Are in this tree
Me
change / set to none

So I clicked on the "set to none" under Who Are You and, abracadabra, it's sorted.
