Catholic Marriage in Liverpool 1922
« on: Thursday 15 March 18 13:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I'm trying to find a marriage at a catholic church in Liverpool in 1922, I found the entry on lanscbmd sadly ancestry stops at 1921!  Are there any resources online that have transcribed records? No idea of the church

thanks

There's no other online resource for that date. Have you identified either of their baptisms? Some RC baptism records include a note added by the priest at a later date to say when, who, where they married.

I don't quite understand why you don't know the name of the church, if you found the entry on LancashireBMD.  They usually show the church, unless it is a Register Office or Registrar Attended venue.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Unfortunately, using the LancashireBMD site, you may often find that the marriage took place “Register Office or Registrar Attended”. This might mean that it was in a Register Office, but it might also mean that it took place in a Roman Catholic or Non-Conformist Church.

Unless you know the venue - it can't be looked up in parish records and you will have to buy a copy of the cert to get further info

do you have the address of the bride at the time of the marriage - if it is South Liverpool I would probably be able to point you to the name of her local RC church - I live in South Liverpool  :)
