Anne Price, 1st wife of Alexander Ingram (1793-1871)
« on: Thursday 15 March 18 23:17 GMT (UK) »
Alexander Ingram was my 3xgreat-grandfather. He was married twice and my 3xgreat-grandmother Anne Price was his first wife whom he married in Abergavenny on 22 July 1815. She must have died before 1838 when he married Jane Roid as in the register he was described as "widower". By 1841, the children of his first marriage were gone and he was living with just the two young children of his second marriage.

(Jane was in "The Union" within a year and died there in 1868.)

I have a lot on Alexander and his second wife but I cannot find out much about Anne Price and will be grateful for any help you kind people can provide.

Many thanks.

Thank you Kay,

I've found a BMD Register death for an Anne Ingram in Qtr 1 1839 in Abergavenny and have sent off for the cert. I'll update this when it arrives. I can see that the date don't agree!

Anne's death certificate has arrived...

She died on 15th February 1839 at Mill Street, Abergavenny from "dropsy". She was the wife of John Ingram, watchmaker and Alexander Ingram of Frogmore Street was present at death.

This explains the conflicting dates. It's not Alexander's wife but brother John's!!!

Hello,

I am currently in the process of co-ordinating with a relative "down under" a Biography for Alexander INGRAM, John INGRAM's son by his second marriage to Mary Ann POWLES/PAWLES.

His is quite an interesting story, as is his elder brother Edward, and I wonder if we could possibly exchange information.

Sincerely,

Tony Cocks

Hi,
I’m on holiday for a couple of weeks and a phone is a poor browser.

Is this the Edward transported for being naughty?

Kind regards
Malcolm
