Hello Malcolm,

No, Edward was not transported but completed his 4 year sentence at Portland Prison on 20/02/1858.    He was originally sentenced on 21/02/1854 alongside his brother, Alexander, who was "transported" in 1856 to Melbourne, Victoria.   I am in contact with a lady in Australia who is an "Ingram" descendant of John, the step-brother of Edward and Alexander, from their father's first marriage to Ann Price.

Contact me when convenient and it may lead to a greater family tree!!

                                        tonycocks2@hotmail.co.uk

Take care,

Tony

I will indeed. Ann Price was my great-great-great grandmother!
Thomas, Davies, Jones, Walters, Daniel in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. That should narrow it down a bit!
Vincent: Fressingfield, Suffolk, Stockton & Sunderland.
Murtha/Murtaugh: Dundalk & Sunderland
Ingram: Cairnie by Huntly, Scotland then Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
Bardouleau: London - in memory of my stepmother Annie Rose née Bardouleau who put up with a lot from me.

the will of Alexander's father, John, is available online from the NLW

If Jane was in the workhouse, it appears it was because Alexander wasn't paying his dues
