Leonard James for restoration
« on: Thursday 15 March 18 23:54 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

Thanks to the tutorials here I've managed to scan in a photo and reduce the size to just under 500kb using Infran, however, when I go to save it as a JPG and then hover over the image, I notice it's gone from 499.10kb to 77.4kb. It saved correctly as a TIF but then I discovered I can't add that to a post.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. All suggestions appreciated, thanks in advance.
Laura

I'm not sure Jim, he was a Porter, some docs say a Hall Porter, others a Kitchen Porter.
Is he wearing hospital blues ?

If anyone would like to spruce my great-grandfather up a bit and add some colour if you wish, that'd be wonderful. Thanks in advance  ;D

I think he is wearing HB's. Did he serve WW1?
This is how he would have looked if he had.
Edit:
The others have it right. Red tie not blue.

Yes he did service WW1 Jim, 1915-1919. I haven't heard of HB's before but having now looked them up, I'm guessing this photo would've been taken before 1919. Thanks very much for the colour, looks great  ;D
