My ancestor George FERRY married a Mary Bardy on 22 March 1738 at St. Dunstan, Stepney London. I also note that a Marie BARDIE was christened in London (area not specified) on 24 May 1718. Parents were Jean Bardie & wife Anne. This name BARDIE (Bardy) appears to be French, possibly Huguenot French origin. Is FERRY perhaps also a Huguenot name? If so can someone help with more detail regarding these families? Thanks cheers, Rob

The original marriage record has her name as Mary Bandy.

Hi
There is also this at the French Hugeonot Chapel Spitalfields
George s of Jacques Fere and his wife Susanne born 15 Dec bapt 27 Dec 1717
godfather Daniel Duboc godmother Madelaine (H?)arin.

So it does look as though both were French.
The only other baptism is at St Dunstan  Stepney
George and Ann  ch of Richard and Mary Farrow ropemaker of Radcliffe 14 Nov 1716 age 3 weeks.
