Yes, I felt very sorry for my gt Grandma on that voyage but I guess it was a bit better than a sea voyage with morning sickness - that would really be bad. I have the big trunk they brought with them - they don't make stuff like that anymore - you should see the size of the sliding bolt/lock on it.

They lost the little boy Alexander who was with them in 1889. Sad start to a new life.
