Aye Cupcake, Annette Street is the other side of the railway from Albert Road. The IRO building in George Square was C1 but the square itself with no buildings, strangely was C2. The C numbers ran 1 to 5.

I have learnt so much through asking about the Street name.

Thank you Skoosh and all the other Rootschaters who also used their time to help me.

Since my last post I have visited the Mitchell Library and looked up the Electrol Rolls for Albert Road,  Albert Drive and Albert Street - but my parents aren't on any of them. However, they still appear to be at 34 Annette Street in 1947 two years after they moved to Dumfries.

Could it be they didn't register at Albert Road and, it appears they are still down for 34 Annette Street. My father was transferred to Dumfries in May 1945.

While at the Mitchell Library the lady who was helping me the Electrol Rolls said you can access some on Ancestry.  She went onto to Ancestry and found many Titterington names  in Glasgow from 1871 / 1962.  I had no idea there were any in Glasgow  :) .

My father was born in Westmoreland and the family goes back to Lancashire.

Thank you for that.

I believe he was born in 1920 and died in 1993.
