Hi all,
Ellen has been a mystery to me for many a year now. The original thread is here:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=29714.0I have since clarified which 'Nelly' she was, with the help of the 1911 census! She features on there, so was still alive at that time.
She was born on 31st Dec 1902, to James Rosevear and Caroline Blake, and was one of six:
Ellen Caroline - 1902 Camberwell
Alice May - 1905-1921 Southwark (died Forest Gate, East Ham)
James Robert - 1909-1911 Southwark
Phyllis Dorothy - 1911-1995 Newington
Leonard - 1914-1999 East Ham
Christopher - 1920-1997 East Ham
My Grandad Len - who was born in 1914 - used to refer to a sister 'Nelly', who died. I have recently discovered the death date of Alice May (who was never mentioned, only ever 'Nelly'), which would have occurred when my Grandad was 7, so within living memory.
It would appear that the family moved to East Ham, Essex before 1914, when my Grandad was born. If so, I suppose I should be searching on the other board.
I have found death records for all the siblings, apart from Ellen Caroline. I don't know if she survived to adulthood, or got married. If she did, it seems strange that we never really heard anything about her, unless there is some huge skeleton I'm about to let out of the closet!
Any help would be most appreciated. I'll be grateful for finally piecing all the family together!
Regards, Emma
