Old Dublin photo's
« on: Saturday 17 March 18 12:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I have recently found the address of a ancestor through this brilliant forum and would love to see how it looked when he lived there (1941) the place is 13 Suir Road Kilmainham, Dublin.  Can anyone point me in the direction to where there would be a  photo of the place around that time.?

Maybe a look through the Dublin City Council photo archive may yield some results.

Operating business less than 100 yards away from Suir Road and can tell you that road hasn't changed since 1941. Think it was around 1930 that road and houses on it were built

Thanks very much, that clears up a lot of speculation . The person who lived at the address was a hair dresser and I thought he might have worked from that address (barber shop) in 1941.

The "Thoms Directory" could help you in that respect.

There is a Thomas Keogh "hairdresser"  listed in THOMS in 1941  business address 8 High Street

Ariell view of High Street, Dublin 8, all of the terrace in front of St Auden's has now disappeared.
