Any likely looking ladies that might have been his mother like Rosina Elen who married in 1880.

I see a lot of Elen marriages are online and wondered if a Thomas popped up as a witness but haven't seen him.

Yes, I wondered if he could be Rosina's but she had all her other children baptised, so I would have expected there to be a baptism for him if he was hers. If he died too soon there should be a death registration but I can't find one.

Was Torell (GRO) or Trell (Ancestry) a given name in those days or could it be a hint of who the father was?
