The only information on this is that he's an L/Cpl. so unless he's a full timer this would be well into the war.
He's also wearing the earlier style of tunic (1908-15).
As Frank said a name & number might help so we can take a look.

He's Alphonso Brand, b. 1889 in Manchester.  Lincs Rgt, Cpl 42677; Leics Rgt, Cpl 52119.

So,  as he's only got one stripe in the photo, it seems that the Lancs Fus. came first?

His first overseas posting (France) was with the 8/Lincs. They went overseas in Sept. 1915. As your man didn't receive the 15 Star means he didn't go with them at that time but went as a replacement in 1916.
He transferred to the 6/Leics. who were in the same Division (37th) up until July 1916 so possibly transferred prior to that.
The war diaries may give a mention.

Correction. The 8/Lincs. & 6/Leics. weren't in the same Div. at the same time they swapped on 7/7/16 with the 8/Lincs. going from 21/Div. to 37/Div. & the 6/Leics. going in the opposite direction.
The 8/Lincs. received 140 replacements mid-late Dec. 1915 so may have been one of those as the cut-off date for the 15 Star was 30/11/15. There were 20 more in Mar. 1916 & 206 in July.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.
