Melbourne, Derbyshire

Hi everyone,
I am working in conjunction with Melbourne council on the history of Melbourne fair, particularly relating to WW1 and before, it is for an exhibition to be held in the town at the end of September.  If anyone has any information about the history of the town and the fair, which is known to have been a hiring fair in the nineteenth century and prior, I would be very grateful.
Many thanks,
Neil

Sadly, although ancestors Topliss and Newbould came from that area, I've had anough trouble tracking them down, and can't help. Good luck, though. A brilliant idea.
Threlfall (Southport), Isherwood (lancs & Canada), Newbould + Topliss(Derby), Keating & Cummins (Ireland + lancs), Fisher, Strong& Casson (all Cumberland) & Downie & Bowie, Linlithgow area Scotland . Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)
