William Farebrass (Soldier)

Among the battered, bruised and bloodied Bobbies that struggled with the crowds was Police Sergeant William Edwin Fairbrass. Fairbrass was a former soldier, but the hand-to-hand fighting in and around the Bull Ring was the only serious battle that he ever fought. Born in Whitstable, Kent, in 1806, Fairbrass had enlisted in the 7th Foot in 1825.  ...

Fairbrass - It's a small world
« Reply #17 on: Thursday 29 March 18 12:06 BST (UK) »
Hi all

I recently left the Royal Navy in which I've known a Fairbrass for about 30 years. Unbeknownst to either of us it would appear that he is a likely relative; as via this thread I have found that I have Fairbrass ancestors. John O'Shea has done a one name study on this name and assures me that this is highly likely.

My friends grandfather was Joseph Fairbrass who married  Florence L Humphreys in 1912 in West Ham. Their son John was born in 1917 (now deceased). Would any kind soul(s) help me trace his lineage back so I can find a connection?

Many thanks in advance

David
