Thank you so much for your help.  I was told it was Charles and I didn't know anything about my Grandmother except her name as Gladys.  As I am such a newbie please.can you tell me where I go from here?  I do not know how to search for other relatives such as John K and Gladys brothers and sisters.  I only joined this evening and have limited search and posting abilities.

Gladys quickly remarried following John’s death in 1960:

Gladys C Redgate married Frank Wellman Jun qtr 1960 Southampton (he died in Southampton in 1967, aged 54).

As Gladys C Wellman she then married again to a Mr Hurst, Sep qtr 1969 Southampton

She died as Gladys Christina Hurst, registered in Chesterfield, Derbyshire May 2001 (born 30 June 1914).
