Louisa Paul b Q2 1874 Battersea, London m Canada
« on: Thursday 22 March 18 09:20 GMT (UK) »
The above, daughter of David Paul and Eliza nee Healey apparently emigrated to Canada where she m  John Minns 24 Apr 1895 at  Uxbridge, Ontario/ After that I can find no record of her. When they married they were both under age, she 20 and he 19 and both lived at Stouffville. John was the son of George and Mary and seems to appear on the 1901 census as single with them in Toronto ?

Well done, Christine.  By 1906, he is remarried with a young child (not Ethel), and living in Alberta. By 1911, he is in British Columbia.

There's an online tree that indicates the maiden name might be Poll or Paul.  The marriage of her parents spells the name as Poll.

Thank you very much for your research about John and Ethel. Do you think that Louisa remarried too as it seems strange that there is no death record for her?

They likely went their separate ways.  She was pregnant when they got married, and after the baby died, perhaps thought better of being married.  That's why I wondered if you had her actual birthdate, since that would  help narrowing her down.
