Sandwick Cemetery
« on: Thursday 22 March 18 12:37 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Does anybody know where I can find memorial inscriptions for Sandwick Cemetery please and do the burials go up to 1912

I am trying to locate Jemima Macleod's gravestone, she died aged 13 in Stornaway.

Jemima was the daughter of Alexander Macleod & his wife Christiana (nee Macrae)

Would also be interested if anybody is researching this family or knows about them

Kind Regards Pam

If you google Memorial Inscriptions Sandwick Cemetery Stornoway you can purchase book of inscriptions £2.60.thats including postage ...The other thing is there might not be a grave stone for her ...had a quick look on www.findagrave.com there is a unknown Macleod 21 October 1912

Thanks Rosie. I'll double check the date of her death it may be one and the same.

She died February 7th 1912 so think that one is a bit too late.
Thanks again Pam

There doesn't seem to be any mention of Jemima Macleod in the books of inscriptions from Sandwick cemetery.
I also looked in vain here, but am posting the link in case you might want to check for other names.
