Insights into our First World War fighting men; what their service records tell us

The ‘New Zealand World War I Service Records, 1914-1920’ contain more than 200,000 records with almost 4 million images. These poignant multiple page accounts of each soldier's personnel record contain all the official paperwork from their time in the military.

They include:
•medical certificates
•correspondence
•recommendations for commendations
•reports from battles
•information about how and where they died.
