According to the Kent FHS Marriage Transcriptions Edward Mercer of Horsmonden married Elizabeth Mercer of Bromley in Yalding by Licence on 12 December 1812.

Emeltom

Another record shows that Elizabeth MERCER was a spinster when she married Edward Mercer

Thank you all, you have been busy while I slept here in NZ.
Emeltom re The Weald Genealogy site, I don’t think this is the family I am looking for, however post #7 is a definite possibility. All of the names are repeated in following generations, and it makes sense that there were more than two children of Edward and Elisabeth.
Trish – This is my husbands family, descending from William b1813 and one of his sons who immigrated to New Zealand. I had found Sarah’s marriage and have traced her. William was a witness to her marriage and he (William) married on the same day- double wedding.
Rosie99. Can you tell me where you saw the record that Elizabeth was a Spinster when she married Edward? This would help confirm one of my questions.
