mothers maiden name was west

joined the navy as a code breaker  as a code breaker possible hms honeysuckle where he was awarded the gold leaf

just wondered if any one could find any information about him such as if he got married etc

As there are not many people of that name have you tried looking at freebmd and eliminating marriages listed on there  :-\

My mother, Eunice Abbott nee Crapper was one of Cyril's cousins.  I can confirm the information posted is correct and I have other information re his family.

this email is from my son who is writing a book about barnsley and district in ww2 for pen and sword publishers.
The information he as so far for Cyril is that at a youngster showed a natural aptitude for solving puzzles.He won several crossward competition that he entered,so it was a natural progression for him to be a code breaker during the war.I know what ship he served on but i lose track of him after the war ended.I understand that he movedto london before the war possiblyto live with relatives.I just need to bulk out the paragraph i have of him so if there is anything that you could provide this would be most welcome.
I could send my sons email by private message if you like.Thanks
