ellis island immigration 1904 Michael Pomphret
« on: Friday 23 March 18 21:38 GMT (UK) »
I have found a record on family search for Michael b. 1883 Co Cork Ireland . It states he is going to his sister a Mrs Cunningham 30 Crystal Ave New London Connecticut.  As Michael had several sisters I am hoping to discover which one Mrs Cunningham is? Also on the ship manifest there is a sister Margaret also going to Mrs Cunningham.  Thank you for any help.

Have you looked on the US census either side of the date he travelled ( 1900 and 1910) for a female Cunningham, born in Ireland living in Connecticut?

Also worth looking for him on the 1901 Irish census which may exclude other sisters ( as well as Margaret)
Leicestershire:Chamberlain, Dakin, Wilkinson, Moss, Cook, Welland, Dobson, Roper,Palfreman, Squires, Hames, Goddard, Topliss, Twells,Bacon.
Northamps:Sykes, Harris, Rice,Knowles.
Rutland:Clements, Dalby, Osbourne, Durance, Smith,Christian, Royce, Richardson,Oakham, Dewey,Newbold,Cox,Chamberlaine,Brow, Cooper, Bloodworth,Clarke
Durham/Yorks:Woodend, Watson,Parker, Dowser
Suffolk/Norfolk:Groom, Coleman, Kemp, Barnard, Alden,Blomfield,Smith,Howes,Knight,Kett,Fryston
Lincolnshire:Clements, Woodend

Hi thank you for reply. Have looked at us CENSUS but nothing immediately apparent for Cunningham.
In the 1901 Ireland  Census there is only 1 sister in house Annie a 18 (Michael also on it). The other sisters are Bridget b.1872, Elizabeth b 1865, Johanna b 1881, Ellen b. 1866, Also not having any luck in tracking Michaels sister Margaret after her arrival in 1904.

Hello,

There is a Bridget Cunningham here but born 1868. Unfortunately, she is a patient in hospital but is married.

Have you found any of the sisters emigration records?
