Hi,
Have just found out that my sister will be visiting England next month. She is hoping to be able to fill in some blanks on our family that will require her to visit several locations and has no idea where to go or what she might need to do to gain access to documents. She will be staying in central London and will only be there for a week.
Am hoping that one of you might be able to direct us to the right place and have identified the following interests and sites I saw on the internet.
Wills, Probate, Death Certificates, Voter Lists and other documents (the wills were probated in London, the deaths occurred there also and the residence is located in SE Dulwich )
1. Property ownership-1920 through 1975
Land Registry, Telford
Croyden
2. National Archives, Kew
Thought I had this figured out but after further reading of items located at the National Archives, I find that they do not have wills after 1858 nor do they have birth, marriage/death certificates so I am not sure where these might be housed. Not sure if this location would be worth the time for what we are seeking.
3. London Metropolitan Archives
40 Northampton Road
Clerkenwell
Specifically looking for:
Home ownership 1920 through 1975
Voter lists after 1970
Death certificate-1975
Probate of wills, 1956, 1962 and 1974
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
