Marriage of Francis KING & Elizabeth bef 1742
« on: Saturday 24 March 18 00:21 GMT (UK) »
The earliest recording for issue of Francis and Elizabeth is the baptism of Thomas at Stathern 13 Jun 1742. A number of children followed.  I have been unable to locate the marriage in Stathern so seeking assistance.

Elizabeth was Francis second wife with his first wife Jane HARRES was buried Stathern 13 Aug 1736.

Francis married thirdly to Elizabeth BARNES a widow who had married twice previously.

It is the marriage between Francis and Elizabeth his second wife I am seeking.

I can't see a marriage between Francis and Elizabeth in the available Leicestershire records prior to 1742.  But then I can't see a marriage between Francis King and Elizabeth Barnes in Leicestershire either.  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

OK.

Francis KING & Jane HARRES married 30 Jul 1732 Stapleford, Leicestershire.

I have located one child born from this marriage but feel there should be more.  The child John was baptised at Stathern 22 Apr 1733.

Jane was buried at Stathern 13 Aug 1736.

Francis secondly married  Elizabeth [and this is the married I am unable to locate nor have I located a burial for Elizabeth] and their children are baptised Sathern:
Thomas 1742
Mary 1744
Philadelphia 1746
Ellen 1749
Sampson 1752
Thomas 1754

Francis then married Elizabeth HAMES at Sibson 19 Nov 1755 and as yet I am unable to find any issue nor a burial for Elizabeth HAMES.  The marriage record didnt indicate she had been previously married.
Francis King & Elizabeth Hames, of age ... 19 Nov. 1755 [England, Phillimore Marriage Registers, 1531-1913].  Also on FreeReg & FamilySearch https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NJFW-Z8M.

I made a dreadful mistake [in my original post] and wrote BARNES rather than HAMES.  :-[ :'(  Apologies.

Image for the marriage is available on FindMyPast.  Both of this parish, neither signed, were both of age, and the marriage was by Banns.
