Thorndon Park Graveyard

MARTINA ROSS, DIED 29/10/1880

I am looking to find more information about a grave in the Anglican Graveyard Thorndon Park, I have  what is “Essex Memorial Inscriptions Transcription “,  there is no memorial inscription but it leads me to a CD volume S E Essex Vol 1 reference 16, Can anyone tell me where this might be held, ?

The young person concerned died in Ingrave, unfortunately no more information, she was born in London 1864, 1871 she was in a Catholic school in St Pancras, St Aloysius, Clarendon Sq,  ,
REF    RG10/221 FOLIO 110 PAGE 4,
with her sister, and now her death, aged 16 in Ingrave, I have no idea why she was in this area unless she was at a Catholic boarding school in Ingrave , I have no idea where these records are kept if at all,

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

Ingrave is not far from Brentwood, where there is currently a large Girls Convent school called the Ursuline,  on the surface it doesn’t appear old enough.

If you google Herongate & Ingrave there is a brief history of the area which mentions a local Catholic school.

This area falls under the diocese of Brentwood.

Hi Louisa ,the school mentioned above was not opened at the time of Martina's death as the poster suspected.
I am looking into this St Joseph's Convent & School in Ingrave at the moment but there doesn't seem to be much info out there

Hi

The following link:

http://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/essex/vol8/pp90-109

Leads to some information about St Helens RC on Ingrave Road which later had a school attached to.

SEAX have the memorial inscriptions in their catalogue, with the creator listed as the Essex Society for Family History. ESFH have the memorial inscriptions CD available for purchase and they also offer a search service for a couple of pounds.
