uk to canada and back to uk ?
« on: Saturday 24 March 18 16:14 GMT (UK) »
Hello All,

Does anyone know how I can research when the original families/individuals first moved to Canada from the UK.  This would be around 17??/1800-1830. I have a record of birth in Canada at 1831 serving in the UK merchant navy 1853-1857 born in Canada his name is Robert Oakes, other than that I'm stuck. Thank you in advance for any assistance

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

I wonder if these could this be any thing to do with your family?

The image shows a Robert OAKES aged 5, so he would be the right age.

Where do you find the Canada 1831 birth?

Daisy

Do you have Robert in any other records, censuses for example?

Do you know the names of his parents?
