Would divorce have been an option for John and Harriet, back then, in Australia?
Mullingar, Westmeath Ireland: Gilligan/Wall/Meagher/Maher/Gray/O'Hara/Corroon (various spellings)
Bristol: Woodman/James/Derrick
Bristol/Somerset: Saunders/Wilmot
Gloucestershire:Woodman/Mathews/Tandy/Stinchcombe/Marten/Thompson
Wiltshire: Mathews
Carmarthen: Thomas, Lewis
Australia: Mary Lewis, transportee, married Henry Brown - what happened to her?

Yes.
They could have obtained a divorce.
I have tried searching Qld Archives for one such, but have not located anything. Others may do better.
Divorces were often noted in the newspapers but I do not see any items.

Thank you so much, everyone, for all your help. Your replies have cleared up quite a few things for me.
