The Old Battling Place, Marlborough 1939?
« on: Monday 26 March 18 19:25 BST (UK) »
Another post from me today!

Looking at another branch of the family, I have found that they were living in Marlborough in 1939 at a place named 'The Old Battling Place' - does anyone have ideas where this place may be? Sounds like it could be a pub /inn?

No road is listed, but George Lane is listed previously, and Old George Inn Cottage, and Scouts Hall are listed after. Looking at the entry again, it could also be 'The old Bathing Place'.

I think that is a very good suggestion Kay99, must admit I was looking on those similar lines  :)

George Lane is still there.  The Police Station is on it.

Thanks, the Swimming area looks a likely suggestion. I do think 'the old battling place' would be a great name for a pub though!
