Kate Esther Howe, born 1870 in Lambeth

Kate Esther Howe was born in Lambeth in the last quarter of 1870. In 1889 she married George Rivett in Walworth, and the record of the marriage names Kate's father as William Howe. I have not been able to find Kate on the 1871 or 1881 censuses. I believe she was born in Brixton. Does anyone have any information about William or who he was married to?

I see that the birth registration is for Kate Esther Rose How (no e) mother's maiden name Sansom.

Thank you! That is an enormous help. I did not know until today that the mother's maiden name can be found via the GRO for births prior to 1911.

Sorry, I see the age doesn‘t fit with the above  although some of the children seem to fit with GRO and mmn Sansom

What is William’s occupation on the marriage certificate?

heywood:  thank you. I have not seen the marriage certificate, but only a record of the marriage on some site or other, probably findmypast. I am sure I shall now be able to trace Kate's parents.

Possibly this family in Lambeth with Hannah listed as a widow with Kate listed as Catherine    -  all children born in Lambeth.   Can see on the GRO Birth Index births for Hannah and William with mothers maiden name Sansom
