Hey solidrock,

I've started working back on Mont's siblings.

Mont's sister Henrietta GRIFFITHS married Thomas Henry Phillip HAYNES (these are my gg grandparents).

Their marriage record shows her father as Thomas Edward Griffiths. (need to follow original up next week)

That may be me for a few days, need to play with the living for a little while  ;D

The image for the marriage is available via FindMyPast:

Thomas Edward Griffiths is an Engine Fitter.  Thomas Henry Phillip is a Spring Maker and his father, Thomas, is a Labourer.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

"There is a Thomas Griffiths who was baptised on 18/03/1832 at St Leonard's, Bilston, Stafford, England. Father: William Griffiths. Mother: Maria Griffiths)"

Maybe but why was he not baptised Thomas Edward?

Hi chev,  I think I'm cracking up but here's a very wild theory.
Thomas Edward Griffiths marries Elizabeth Williams 1859 in Whitchurch.  There are plenty of Elizabeth Williams born 1837 in the Bristol area. Perhaps she changed her name because she was hiding some thing and Whitchurch was the first to come to mind, she keeps the same intial E.  ??? ;D :-\

I've seen that one but rejected it as she is consistant with her birth on census's as 1837. Perhaps she and Thomas were never married.

Second thoughts maybe she read 1832 as 1837.
