Eric Reinhold Hellgren, Easington, marriage and children?
« on: Wednesday 28 March 18 15:08 BST (UK) »
Hi!

I'm looking for information about my relative:
Eric Reinhold Hellgren, b 18 Aug 1892 in Ed, Stockholm, Sweden.
He was working as a locomotive stoker and seaman in Stockholm 1910-1919.
During the years 1920-1932 I have no - or very little - information about his whereabouts.
Probably he went overseas.

On 1 July 1920 he was married in Easington, Durham, with a woman named Mary Ann McKenna. This is according to "England and Wales Marriage Registration Index, 1837-2005" on Familysearch, which is my only source.

Eric was back in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1932. Alone. A note in 1935 says that he and Mary Ann McKenna got divorced 30 Sept 1935. Eric remarried in 1936 (no children) and passed away in 1964.

Who was Mary Ann McKenna? Was there any children in that marriage, and did the couple live in Easington?

Best regards!
 Dan Stefansson

Passenger list for an Eric G Helgren merchant age 34 New York to London in 1928.
Don't know if that might be him.  Think it reads in transit to Gothenberg.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Who was Mary Ann McKenna?

Hej Dan
And welcome to RootsChat.
I can only suggest you purchase their marriage certificate. It will state father's name etc. This will help to get you started:

Thanks very much for the advice!
I'll try to get that marriage certificate, and probably return to this post with new information.
