TOUGHEY/TOOHEY FAMILY
« on: Friday 30 March 18 07:56 BST (UK) »
Research carried out in 1980s told me Cornelius Toughey born 3 Feb.1861 in Ennis, county Clare. Poss parents Patrick and Ellen...Cornelius along with 2 brothers, Jeremiah and John,(twin to Cornelius) emigrated on Northampton in 1886 to Australia. I would like to confirm this birth with an actual entry of the record if anyone can help. Also any other family members?  I've been trolling through Clare records in Clare library - no joy there.
I know a fair bit about Cornelius in Australia and happy to sharf with any other Toohey researchers.
Cheers

Many thanks, have been trolling through the records and working out how to.... can't find a mention  of the name for  years before and after 1861. Now, have found  John Toughey 1854 in Dromore west (Anc), that's a good hike from Ennis/Drumcliff, however Cornelius called his home in Sydney - Dromore! I am now wondering if the father of these boys - Patrick may have come from up north??
The film associated with John's entry was 101041, Vol 14, page 226, how do I go about finding that please. I am vision impaired (one eye only now) so it is a great deal of persistence and help I need!
Cheers
