« on: Friday 30 March 18 09:18 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have just come across some information showing that a relative was in the Royal Welch Fusilliers, I am struggling to work through the information. Does anyone know what it all means?

Samuel John Griffiths - 4185844
Born 1907 Pontypool
Place of attestation - Pontypridd
Signed up 25/7/24

Thanks in advance,

Deb

Presumably you are on Findmypast which has the data?

Something is going wrong with viewing the image.  Start again at the search page for
British Army, Royal Welch Fusiliers 1807-1948 Image
and enter his name and number.  That brings up his record as a transcription and an image.  The image is the enlistment book for the period covering 1924 when he joined up, gives personal details and records his discharge in 1929 on medical grounds and the fact that he joined the Royal Engineers Territorials in 1938.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
