1851 Census - Thomas Lindsay

Hello
Trying to find out actual address and occupation for Thomas Lindsay and family in 1851 census....Reg district: Kirkcaldy. Birthplace: Forfar...I have him from the 1841 census and am curious what happens next  :)

Thomas Lindsay b about 1803
Jean Lindsay b abt 1803
Ann b abt 1829
William b abt 1830
Thomas b abt 1832
Elizabeth b abt 1835
Cheetham in Eccles, Lancashire. Roxburgh in Galston, Ayrshire. Lindsay in GlenIsla, Dundee and Newcastle

1851 census: High Street, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland

Jean   Lindsay           Wife   48   1803   -   Forfarshire (Angus), Scotland   
William  Lindsay   Son U/m   21   1830           Cart Wright          Dundee
Thomas Lindsay   Son U/m   19   1832            Tobacco Spinner   Dundee
Elizabeth   Lindsay Daughter U/m 16   1835       Domestic Duties   Dundee
David   Lindsay   Son   1           1850    -   Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland   

According to the 1851 census details he was born in Birth town as transcribed    Kingoldrum
Lawrie name in Fife (and elsewhere) with all its various spellings.

And there is a David! I have a scrap of a letter addressed to David Lindsay from his brother....all makes sense now (does little jig round front room  ;D ;D)

David Edward Lindsay b. 1 Jun 1849 in KIRKCALDY
Parents Thomas Lindsay and Jean Edward

Ooo fabulous.....the scrap I have is addressed to David E. Lindsay....guess the E might be Edward....he was a bit of a late surprise though? 47...that must have been a shock!

Mother Jean's maiden name of Edward/s features in a number of their children's names:

Ann Lindsay b. 7 May 1828 in in Glenisla
William Edwards Lindsay b. 2 June 1830 in Dundee
Thomas Edwards Lindsay b. 2 Nov 1832 in Dundee
Elizabeth Edwards Lindsay b. 8 June 1835 in Dundee

And then, as you say, surprise David Edward Lindsay in 1849!

I’m totally fascinated (and saddened) by the causes of death on that link you posted....I didn’t even know you could die of teething!!?....

I think death for a young child as a result of 'teething' was a catchall for many other possible causes of fever and illness etc. at that time.
