Help with William Ray
« on: Saturday 31 March 18 17:10 BST (UK) »
My great-great grandfather and namesake was William Henry Ray, born in 1801 in Temple, Fermanagh County.  I would be grateful for any information related to his relatives.   Thank you in advance for whatever information you might be able to provide!

William married Ms. Anna Prentice in Philadelphia in 1850, and they settled in a now-abandoned village in eastern Iowa named Ozark.  They had two children before William died in 1857 in an accident at the local mill. Anna remarried and had several more children before passing in 1922.

Where did you get   Temple, Fermanagh County  from?

There are  Temple townlands in Galway Mayo and Sligo

Thanks for the response.

The reference to "Temple" was from another person's entry on Ancestry.com, without reference.  I believe that it must have been from a family Bible or similar source.  So "Tempo" is certainly also possible, since reading these older, handwritten records can be a challenge.
