Shilletto/Hutchinson marriage 1808
« on: Saturday 31 March 18 18:09 BST (UK) »
Hello, Granada Shilletto married Robert Hutchinson 18th April 1808 at St Peters in Sheffield. Does anyone have access to the registers to check the witnesses names etc? Many thanks

Looks like  James Burkinshaw and Sam Sorby  :-\  Image available via FindMyPast

Actually, I think, Sam'l Sorby and I think he might be a church official as he is witness to a few marriages.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you! Please could you look at Granada’s baptism on FindMyPast too? It is listed under Grannada shillitto and is in Greasbrough. I’m hoping it might say she was not born in that parish or was not a baby when baptised

Hi Grannada Shillito was baptised 5th August 1787 Guisbrough Father James Mother Elizabeth.
No mention of age.
21 seems to be a good age to marry in 1808?

Thanks keyboard, yep it does. But the 1851 census says she was born in Hull 😕 seems quite far away from Rotherham?

Yes, that is them. The first 3 children were baptised in greasbrough, Rotherham. The others in Mottram with exception of Thomas who was baptised in Tintwistle. They lived in Hollingworth which is between the 2

Odd the first 3 were baptised in Greasbrough where Grannada Shillito was baptised?
When did Grenada Hutchinson die?

Yes, I thought that but thought maybe Robert had come from there? And perhaps moved back due to his parents Ill health? I am still trying to find his baptism record. Grenada died in Thorne, which I believe is near Rotherham, In 1860
